A man from Nimishillen Township (Louisville) was arrested Wednesday by federal agents for his involvement in a fatal traffic crash that claimed the life of a 25-year-old.

According to records, Rory R. Notch, 27, is facing two counts of felony aggravated vehicular homicide, operating a vehicle under the influence, speeding, and failure to control and remain in lane of travel.

It’s alleged that Notch was the driver of a Hummer H3 in the early morning hours of Aug. 26 last year. The Hummer went off Maret St NW in Canton and crashed into a tree, killing Brandon L. Browning, 25, of Canton, who was sitting in the passenger seat, according to the Canton Police Department.

Notch suffered serious injuries following the crash and was taken to a local hospital for his injuries.

According to Canton police, the Hummer was overturned on the east side of the road, trapping both occupants of the vehicle inside.

Notch is set to appear in court for arraignment Friday morning in a Stark County Common Pleas courtroom.
