The Summit County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a car crashed into a home early Sunday morning, killing a resident inside.
The sheriff’s office responded to Barth Drive in Green for reports of a vehicle that crashed into a home just before 3 a.m.
According to Summit County Officials, a 2010 Subaru was heading north on Mayfair Road when the driver, a 32-year-old female from Green, lost control of the vehicle, went across the centerline and crashed into a home on Barth Drive.
Inside the Barth Drive home was a 69-year-old man who was sleeping. He was struck by the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials believe speed, alcohol and narcotics use are suspected factors in the crash. Charges against the driver are pending as the investigation continues.
The driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
