One killed in Akron apartment fire; seven displaced as Red Cross assists

The Akron Fire Department responded to an apartment fire on Fleming Dr Tuesday evening around 6 p.m.

When fire officials arrived to the scene, they discovered one adult died in the fire and three people were transported to local hospitals.

Five adults and two children were displaced, according to Lieutenant Timothy Morrison.

Akron Police and Victims Assistance were on scene to provide aid for residents. There were no other injuries for this incident and the Red Cross has been notified.
