The New Philadelphia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a woman early Saturday morning.

The 34-year-old woman from Newcomerstown was driving a 2021 Jeep Gladiator south on State Route 416 when she failed to stop for a stop sign and traveled across US 36.

The woman’s vehicle traveled off the south side of the road and crashed head into the face of a guardrail and overturned down an embankment.

The woman was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported to Trinity Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle was not wearing a seatbelt and alcohol is a factor in the crash, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Assisting on scene with the Ohio State Highway Patrol was Arrowhead Fire and EMS, Uhrichsville EMS, Tuscarawas County Sheriffs Department, ODOT, and Finlayson Towing.
