Minerva High School has completed an investigation into a bullet that was found in the school on Thursday, Jan. 26.
According to Superintendent Gary Chaddock, the live single-round of ammo was found in the school.
“The District utilized our security team to increase visibility and presence at the school while administration began the investigation,” Chaddock said.
Immediately, the district notified the Minerva Police Department, the Stark County Sheriff’s Office, and the Canton City Police Department for assistance in the investigation.
“The safety and security of our students and staff is our utmost priority as a District,” Chaddock added.
The investigation concluded Friday morning and the district confirmed there was not an active threat to students.
“The District engaged in ongoing consultation with law enforcement to evaluate the situation which indicated there was not an immediate threat to safety,” Chaddock noted.
