Two of the three local fires that occurred over the weekend have been ruled arson by the State Fire Marshal’s office.

The old East Carroll nursing home fire on Apollo Road and the vacant pole barn fire on Myers Rd off of Route 30 are being investigated as arson.

Sandy Creek Joint Fire District and other departments first responded to the pole barn fire around midnight Friday.

A few hours later, the Hanover Twp. Volunteer Fire Department and other area departments were dispatched to Apollo Road for reports of old East Carroll nursing home being on fire.

The State Fire Marshal is investigating both fires as arson and is offering a $5,000 reward.

The Great Trail Fire District responded to a home earlier in the evening for a house fire on Lardon Rd NW that has been labeled suspicious at this time.
