A 46-year-old man is behind bars after fleeing from police, according to the Alliance Police Department.
Jason F. Krach is accused of shoplifting tools worth a value of $929 from Family Farm & Home on E. State St. He was a passenger in a Cadillac and is accused of using a knife to force the female driver of the vehicle to flee and not pull over for police.
Authorities say he placed the knife to the female driver’s neck and side. They say he allegedly used the knife to threaten another passenger in the Cadillac.
Krach was charged with kidnapping, two counts of aggravated menacing, and one count each of possession of cocaine, failure to comply with order of police, possession of criminal tools, theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The three-mile pursuit ended when the Cadillac drove into the back of a mini van.
