A man was killed Thursday morning in a house fire in the 300 block of E. Grant St in Malvern.
The Great Trail Fire Department was dispatched to the home for reports of a structure fire with a man trapped inside at 5:46 a.m. A woman made it out of the home.
When they arrived to the scene, multiple rooms were on fire and oxygen tanks inside the home could be heard exploding due to the fire, according to GTFD Chief Ralph Castelucci.
The victim has been identified as Ricky Simmons, 64.
No cause of the fire has been released.
Assisting with the investigation was Sandy Creek Joint Fire District, the Carroll County Coroner’s Office and the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
