Seventeen area men are facing charges as the result of a human trafficking investigation by the Jackson Township Police Department, and The Summit County Sheriff’s Office on Dec. 8.
The following men are facing misdemeanor charges of Engaging in Prostitution and Possession of Criminal Tools for answering online advertisement offering explicit sexual services in exchange for payment:

Joseph Sherwood, age 45, Medina
Michael K. Hoover, age 39, Canton
James P. Cooney, age 47, Brunswick
Keith D. Larew, age 50, Salem
Terry Renner, age 64, Massillon
Rajiv Abichandani, age 38, Aurora
Robert L. Kassler, age 50, Massillon
Robert D. Hoover, age 61, Chagrin Falls
Walter L. Martin, age 53, Akron
Robert J. Yoder, age 49, Apple Creek
John M. Kenzie, age 58, Coventry Township
Derek E. Rucker, age 60, Akron,
One man, Shane L. Gammel, age 48, of Canton, is facing other counts in addition to the previously mentioned charges: Possession of Drugs (F5) and Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs (F4).
