The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a car vs. pedestrian accident on US 30 near milepost 26 in Robertsville.
The crash happened Friday night around 10 p.m. Mark Brownsword, 41, was driving east on US 30 in a 2012 Volkswagon Jetta when he struck Ian Matz. Matz was walking in the roadway, according to Lt. Leo Shirkey.
Investigation revealed that Matz was under the influence alcohol and or drugs. He was transported to Aultman Hospital with serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
