A Canton man died Wednesday evening in a traffic accident on I-71 near Columbus.
State troopers say Abraham Smith Jr traveled left of the median on I-71 in Morrow County north of Columbus then into the opposing lanes of traffic.
Smith truck a semi; the semi then hit another vehicle on the highway.
Smith’s vehicle and the rig both caught fire and Smith was pronounced dead at the scene, according to OSHP.
The other drivers had just minor injuries.
