The Akron Police Department is investigating a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident that left a 14-year-old injured Monday evening.
According to police, the teen was attempting to cross the street in the 1000 block of E. Archwood Ave at 6:15. When the 14-year-old boy stepped into the roadway, police say he was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on E. Archwood Ave.
The boy sustained serious injuries and was transported to Akron Children’s Hospital, where he’s in critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle, a 28-year-old man, remained on the scene of the crash and fully cooperated with police.
The incident remains under investigation.
