The New Philadelphia Police Department is investigating a home invasion that occurred Friday night in the city.

According to New Philadelphia Police, Corey Harshey, 33, allegedly used a rock to break a window in order to enter his neighbor’s apartment on First Drive NE.

Police said the apartment the suspect broke into was his neighbor. The 44-year-old victim was stabbed several times in the head and neck with what officials believe was a pocket knife.

Harshey was convicted in 2018 on charges of robbery and grand theft in Tuscarawas County.
