The Ohio State Highway Patrol has confirmed that the barricade situation at the Indian River Juvenile Correctional Facility has concluded.
According to dispatch, negotiations continued for over 12 hours with 12 incarcerated juvenile who stole keys and barricaded themselves inside the building.
Law enforcement officials from multiple agencies arrived to the scene with “riot gear.”
Details remain limited, but no injuries were reported.
A correctional officer was injured earlier in the day, but that situation is separate from the barricade situation.
