The Canton Police Department is investigating an early morning shooting that left a man dead and a woman injured in the city Monday.
According to Canton Police Chief John Gabbard, officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Oakmont Ave N.W for reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they located two victims on the living room floor of the apartment.
They located Javontae Conner, 21, of Canton, with multiple gunshots to the torso. He was unresponsive and died from his injuries.
Timnashia Wilson, 18, of Canton, was shot in the abdomen and was alert and talking to authorities. She was transported to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital. He condition is unknown at this time.
