Canfield High School beat Dover High School in a Friday night overtime matchup at Crater Stadium.

The Cardinals scored on a 15-yard scramble to seal the victory in extra time after the Tornadoes missed a field goal attempt.

The Crimson Tornadoes tied the game at 14-14 with a Ben Hamm touchdown scramble with 22 seconds left in regulation – one of two Hamm touchdowns for the game (the first on a 22-yard pass to J.J. Barton).

Canfield improves to 5-1 with the win, while Dover falls to 4-2.

Host Malvern blew out Strasburg-Franklin on Friday night.

Hornets quarterback Jared Witherow set his school’s single-game record for passing yards (350), along with four touchdowns in a 20-for-25 passing performance.

Witherow broke Shawn Ball’s record of 337 passing yards, which the former Hornets slinger accomplished twice.

Rodney Smith and Dylan Phillips each caught two touchdowns for the Hornets (5-1).

Strasburg drops to 0-6.
