Romano leads Minerva volleyball to 3-0 win over St. Thomas Aquinas

The Minerva Lions volleyball team picked up a 3-0 match win over St. Thomas Wednesday night.

Minerva won the first set of the night by a score of 25-14. They narrowly won the second set 25-22. They dominated the third and final set of the night 25-6.

The Lions were led by Gabby Romano who recorded 10 kills, five aces, five digs and one block. Madelyn Morckel posted a stat line of 10 assists, three aces and five digs.

Ave Haueter finished the night as Minerva’s leading server, recording eight aces, eight assists and three digs. Ella Granat clocked six kills and one ass. Sierra Cress had three kills, Ashley Bowman had two aces and six digs, Olivia Mandato (one kill), Shylyn Bobby (two kills and one block) and Olivia Bradley (one kill).

With the win, Minerva moves to 1-1 on the season.

They’ll be back in action Saturday at home vs. Beaver Local. Game time is 12 p.m.
