A 33-year-old Massillon man is dead after a crash in Holmes County.

The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-vehicle crash that ended in a suicide Sunday evening on Ohio 241 in Hardy Township.

Timothy A. Ellsworth, 33, of Massillon was heading south in a 2011 Chevy Avalanche when deputies said he intentionally swerved left of center before striking a 2011 Jeep Wrangler.

Officials said that Ellsworth later was pronounced dead at the hospital from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. It is believed that immediately following the accident, he shot himself.

The driver of the Jeep, Kathlean M. Davis, 31, of Millersburg, was transported to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Officials said she was wearing a seatbelt.
