HS Football Thursday: Perry drops 50 on Canton Central in opening win; Fairless runs over host Sandy Valley

Perry’s offense rolled to a 50-28 opening night victory over Canton Central Catholic High School.

De’Andre Church scored three rushing touchdowns in the first half, while Christian Ivanic had a 95-yard kickoff return for a Panthers touchdown.

Crusaders quarterback Jack Talkington had three touchdowns in the opening half, including two rushing scores and one passing.

Ryder Hartshorn and Carson Basham added late touchdowns for the Perry victory.

FAIRLESS 31, SANDY VALLEY 0

The Fairless Falcons ran wild on the Sandy Valley defense in their Thursday night opener in Magnolia.

Fairless scored two touchdowns in the opening quarter en route to a 24-0 halftime lead – courtesy of two Carson Colucci touchdown passes to Brody Pumneo, and a Peter Killy rushing score.

Killy ran 23 times for 103 rushing yards and the TD, while Anthony Stutler added a rushing score late in the contest.

The Falcons’ defense recorded three interceptions on the Cardinals, who were outgained 332-98 in total offensive yardage.

The Zeps opened with a home blowout over Newcomerstown.
