The Akron Police Department has confirmed that the 40-year-old male shooting victim from Friday night’s shooting on Princeton St has died.

A 4-year-old girl was killed when a gunman opened fire into a crowd.

Around 9:15 p.m., officers responded to a shooting outside a residence in the 700 block of Princeton Street. When officers arrived to the scene, they located the young child and man severely injured with gunshot wounds.

The victims were transported to area hospitals where the girl was pronounced dead Friday night. The man died Saturday morning.

Akron Police say they’ve learned people were gathered in a parking lot for a celebration when the shooting happened. That’s when they believe one or more shooters opened fire into the crowd.

No suspects have been arrested and the investigation is ongoing.
