Mickey Sabin resigns as Tuscarawas Central Catholic basketball coach to take Perry job

NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio (JMN Sports) – Mickey Sabin took to Twitter on Wednesday night to announce his resignation as Tuscarawas Central Catholic’s boys’ basketball coach.

“I would like to thank the TCC family for embracing my family and I over the past two years,” Sabin tweeted. “It has been a great ride. Earlier today I turned in my resignation as the boys varsity basketball coach. To all my players, love you guys the memories will last a lifetime.”

Sabin is set to move to the head coaching position at Massilon Perry High School, according to a confirmation from TCC athletic director Mike Sweet to JMN Sports. Sabin is a 1992 graduate of Perry High School and helped the Panthers reach the Division I Final Four during the 1990-91 season.

Sabin went 23-20 in his two seasons as Saints head coach, including a 12-11 record for the 2021-22 season.
