CANTON, Ohio (Jordan Miller News) – An arrest warrant has been issued for a second suspect regarding a March double homicide in Canton.
Lawrence Jerome Collins, 17, has an arrest warrant charging him with two counts of Complicity to Commit Murder, two counts of Complicity to commit Felonious Assault, one count of Complicity to commit Aggravated Burglary, and one count of Complicity to commit Aggravated Robbery.
Collins is currently incarcerated in Cleveland for an unrelated crime, according to Canton Police.
The charges stem from a Mar. 28 double homicide on Canton’s Ellis Avenue NE that left two local teens dead: Jermiah Burton, 19, and William Harvey, 19.
The first suspect, Jayvion Burkes, 16, was arrested and taken to Canton Township’s Multi-County Juvenile Attention Center. Back in April, Burkes’ legal representatives entered pleas of “not true,” the juvenile equivalent of not guilty, to all counts on Burkes’ behalf.
The investigation is continuing at this time. Anyone with any information in regards to this incident is asked to contact the Canton Police Detective Bureau, at (330) 489-3144. Anonymous tips can also be sent through Tip411 or the Stark County Crime Stoppers.
