New Philadelphia’s season came to an end in a 6-3 Quakers loss to Steubenville in Thursday’s Division II Regional semifinal at Gnadenhutten Indian Valley High School.
The Quakers and Big Red were tied at 1-all into the third inning before Steubenville scored three runs off Quakers starter Brenton Billman.
New Philadelphia scratched a pair of runs in the top of the 6th before dropping the contest.
Steubenville will play on Friday against Columbus Bishop Hartley in the Division II Region 7 finals at Teats Valley (5 p.m.).
LIBERTY UNION 2, RIDGEWOOD 1
Baltimore Liberty Union outlasted Ridgewood in a close Division III Regional semifinal at Mount Vernon.
Jacob Miller struck out 15 General batters, including the side in the seventh inning to send the Lions to Friday’s Regional final against Proctorville Fairland in Lancaster (3 p.m.)
