The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested Andrew Williams, 28, on charges of complicity to commit murder.
Williams, of Paris, was wanted by the Stark County Sheriff’s Office in connection to the homicide of 32-year-old Joseph Pomeroy, who was found dead on the side of the road near the intersection of Hardington Avenue NE and 12th Street NE in Canton Township.
Jeremy Morlock, 43, Clayton Smart, 24, and Mary Ann Soliday, 34, were all arrested in connection to Pomeroy’s death.
The Canton Police Department and Stark County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on May 13 on a residence near the 600 block of Correll Avenue NE in Canton, and officers found a person held hostage in the basement. All three were also charged with one count each of rape, kidnapping and felonious assault in connection with the person held hostage. Morlock was charged with one count of aggravated murder, and Smart, Soliday and Williams were individually charged with one count of complicity to commit aggravated murder.
Williams was arrested at a residence near the 2000 block of Silent Court NW in Canton.
Officials say During the arrest attempt, Williams barricaded himself in a bedroom inside the residence, resulting in the Canton SWAT team being activated to the scene. Williams eventually surrendered to officers and was arrested.
