Harrison Central earned the Buckeye 8 Athletic League baseball title with a 3-0 win over Cambridge on Friday night at Harrison Central High School.

Huskies pitcher Tre Rex allowed just three hits in a complete-game shutout, totaling 10 strikeouts.

Errors in the first and fifth innings by the Bobcats led to Harrison Central runs that cemented the Huskies’ win.

Host Strasburg was victorious among a four-team girls field on Senior Night at Franklin Park.

First-place finishers for the Lady Tigers included Riley Thomas (long jump), Maci Willoughby (800), Karli Curfman (200), Ella Pumphrey (800) Maddy Edwards (100 hurdles), Karli Curfman (100), and the teams of Willoughby, Josie Lautenschlager, Pumphrey, and Madi Becker (4×800); Aubrey Fry, Becker, Willoughby, and Thomas (4×200); and Lautenschlager, Becker, Willoughby, and Curfman (4×400).

Sandy Valley won the boys’ meet, followed by Newcomerstown, Strasburg, and Conotton Valley, respectively.

Carter Pratt won the 800 and 1600 events for Strasburg, while Kody Chewning, Jordan Mitchell, Eli Fierbaugh, and Jacob Ross won the 4×100 and 4×200 relays.
