MINERVA, Ohio (JMN Sports) – Jada Shafer knocked a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 8th inning to lead Minerva to a 5-4 win over Salem on Thursday night.
The Lions rallied from a 4-2 deficit in the bottom of the 7th on a Shafer scoring single and a two-out Quakers error.
For Minerva, Shafer totaled three hits in four plate appearances, along with a team-high four runs batted in. Lydia Brunner matched Shafer with a 3-for-4 outing.
Channing Toy and Rylie Troy each totaled two for Salem, with Toy contributing three RBIs.
