STRASBURG, Ohio (JMN Sports) – Ron Miller is expected to be named as the next boys’ basketball head coach at Strasburg-Franklin High School.
The school posted to social media on Tuesday, welcoming Miller as its next head coach.
Miller, a 2012 graduate of New Philadelphia High School, has spent the last six years as an assistant coach at Malone University under men’s head coach Casey Kaufman.
Miller will succeed former Tigers coach Adam Hall, who resigned last month.
Before his time at Malone, Miller spent the 2016-17 season on Greg Zimmerman’s coaching staff at Alderson Broaddus University in West Virginia, where Miller spent the previous four seasons as a player, helping the Battlers win a pair of Great Midwest Athletic Conference championships.
Miller was part of the 2011-12 Quakers team that reached the OHSAA Regional finals under then-New Phila coach Chad Spurgeon. He is also the founder of Miller Basketball Academy, which runs individual and team skill development sessions for players of all ages and skill levels.
Miller is expected to be formally approved at Strasburg-Franklin’s next Board of Education meeting on Wednesday, Apr. 20.
