The Canton Police Department have made an arrest in connection to a shooting that occurred Saturday morning.
Officers were dispatched to the 3100 block of Gilbert Ave. just after 4 a.m. When they arrived to the scene, they located 26-year-old Dajuan Wheat laying in the grass between between apartment buildings, unconscious with a gunshot wound to the rib cage area.
Wheat was transported to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital with life threatening injuries.
Throughout the course of the investigation, Canton Police identified 17-year-old Anthony Steven Hinton as a suspect. He was arrested Sunday on charges of Attempt to Commit Murder (F1) and Felonious Assault (F2). Hinton was transported to the Multi-County Juvenile Attention Center located on Faircrest Ave SW.
