HS Sports Friday: Harrison Central’s Valesko reaches 100 wins; 9-run inning boosts Canton Central softball over Sandy Valley

Canton Central Catholic scored nine runs in the fourth inning of what would be a 12-2 5-inning victory over Sandy Valley on Friday.

Violet Ellerbrock gave up five hits and a walk while striking out four in the Crusaders’ victory. At the plate, Ellerbrock went 3-for-4 with three singles, an RBI, and a run scored.

Bree Faiello went 2-for-3 at the plate for the Cardinals, including an RBI.

Sandy Valley fell to 1-3 with the loss.

HARRISON CENTRAL 10, CLAYMONT 1

West Holmes suffered its first loss of the season on Friday against the Scotties.

Gino DiNardi, Dylan Robinson, and Brady Smith each recorded a pair of hits for the Knights (5-1).

INDIAN VALLEY 11, RIVER VIEW 1 (5 INN.)

Kale Kochman allowed just two hits and a run in five innings of work in the Indian Valley Braves’ Friday night victory over Review View.

The Braves (6-1) totaled 11 hits for the contest, with Kochman, Rafe Bonifay, Brogan Burcher, and Cole Lancaster each managing multiple hits. Lancaster roped a home run and a single in the contest.

The Louisville Leopards suffered their first defeat of the year in a close contest with Lake.
