Hiland’s Isaak Yoder only gave up four hits in the Hawks’ 12-0 victory over Tuscarawas Valley on Thursday night in Zoarville.

Yoder struck out eight and walked only one in the complete-game victory.

Jeff Todaro hit a home run and added two singles for three runs batted in, while Cody Yoder, Nolan Yoder, and Will Schlabach each recorded two hits and two RBIs for the Hawks (2-0).

INDIAN VALLEY 16, SANDY VALLEY 10

Tanyon McComb just missed on hitting for the cycle in Indian Valley’s Thursday victory over Sandy Valley.

McComb roped two singles, a double, and a home run to join Jaxon Burcher with four hits for the game.

Gavin Henry picked up the win for the Braves (2-1, 2-0 IVC).

MALVERN 17, ST. THOMAS AQUINAS 0

Johnny Walker threw five shutout innings while hitting a single and a double in the Malvern Hornets’ Thursday blowout win.

Tristan Phillips recorded three hits and 4 RBIs for the Hornets (2-0), while Austin Passio raked two singles.

MARLINGTON 11, CARROLLTON 1

Marlington bested Carrollton in Eastern Buckeye Conference action on Thursday.

Tommy Skelding earned a four-inning victory for the Dukes.

STRASBURG 9, BUCKEYE TRAIL 7 (SUSPENDED)

Strasburg led Buckeye Trail, 9-7, in the sixth inning before the game was suspended due to darkness.

A makeup resumption of the contest is to be determined.

SOFTBALL

STRASBURG 10, ASHLAND PAUL BLAZER (KY) 3

Strasburg picked up a victory over Kentucky’s Ashland Paul Blazer in their final game at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach.

The Tigers roped 11 hits in the contest, led by Hayler Reiger’s double and triple, Emma Gilkerson’s two doubles, and Sydney Sibila’s single and double.

Amelia Spidell went the distance for the Tigers, giving up two earned runs and throwing 16 strikeouts.

Strasburg moves to 2-1 on the year.

INDIAN VALLEY 18, SANDY VALLEY 4

Indian Valley dropped a 12-run bomb in the first inning of their Thursday win over Sandy Valley.

The Braves (3-0, 2-0 IVC) were led by Gabby Meade and Brooklyn Sanders – each hitting a single and a double – while Mia Rose struck out 13 batters while only giving up two hits.

NEWCOMERSTOWN 18, MALVERN 3

Newcomerstown took care of their Thursday night contest against Malvern.

Brianna Robinson roped four hits (three singles, double) and marked four RBIs, while Karly Ingle contributed three RBIs.

Alyssa Barker earned the pitching win for the Trojans.

TUSCARAWAS VALLEY 24, HILAND 1

Tusky Valley smacked 20 hits on Hiland pitching to post a blowout win on Thursday in Zoarville.

Susan Thompson earned the victory for the Trojans, while Ashley Binsley pitched three innings in relief.

Thompson also knocked three hits at the plate, while Megan Jones had three hits for three RBIs.

STEUBENVILLE 13, DOVER 2

Steubenville handled Dover in a non-conference contest on Thursday at Dover City Park.

HARRISON CENTRAL 8, BUCKEYE TRAIL 0

Buckeye Trail was shut out by Harrison Central on Thursday night in Cadiz.

Hiland was victorious on a Thursday night triangular match over Strasburg (64-48 boys, 60-47 girls) and Coshocton (64-31 boys, 60-33 girls).

BOYS TENNIS

CANTON GLENOAK 3, DOVER 2

GlenOak edged Dover in team play on Thursday.

The Eagles earned individual singles victories from Dylan Wiles (6-1, 6-0 over Dover’s Nick Castricone) and David Marginean (3-6, 6-1, 7-6 (12) over Daniel Pfeiffer), as well as a doubles win for Dylan Wolf and Andrew Arway (7-6 (7), 7-5 over Ryan Nixon and Quinten Troyer.

For Dover, Micah Lint beat Shashir Tellada 6-1, 6-3 in singles play, while Ethan Kopp and Jacob Murphy won their doubles match over Jake Charles and Noah Fink (6-2, 6-4).

CAMBRIDGE 5, CLAYMONT 0

Cambridge shut out host Claymont on Thursday.
