Stark County law enforcement arrest man in drug traffic operation, seize $1 million in drugs

The Stark County Sheriff’s Office Metro Narcotics Unit along with Homeland Security Investigations, the United States Postal Service, FBI Safe Streets Task Force, the Canton City Police Department Special Investigations Unit, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol served a search warrant on Friday, March 25th, 2022.

 

The search warrant was executed at a home in the 1600 block of St. Elmo Avenue NE in Canton. following an investigation into drug trafficking stemming from the discovery of a shipment of drugs mailed to a Stark County address. Investigators seized approximately 10 kilograms of a drug known as DMT with a potential street value of over $1,000,000.     

 

37-year-old Julian Barnett of Canton was arrested and charged with one count of Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs (F1), and Aggravated Possession of Drugs (F1).

 

“Keeping Stark County safe is a collaborative effort and this is another example of the critical partnerships among law enforcement agencies,” explained Sheriff George T. Maier. “We remain committed to ensuring these dangerous drugs are taken out of circulation and those responsible are held accountable.”
