BERLIN, Ohio (JMN Sports) – Jason Mishler is stepping down as Berlin Hiland High School’s girls’ basketball coach after one season.

Mishler resigns after a single season in Berlin, in which he was named the Inter-Valley Conference South Coach of the Year. The Hawks were co-champions of the South Division with Tuscarawas Valley, going 11-1 in IVC play en route to a 17-8 record and a runner-up finish in the Division III East District tournament.

A former basketball player at Hiland, Mishler took over as head coach last spring for Dave Schlabach. Mishler was part of Schlabach’s coaching staff that earned the 2020-21 OHSAA state championship – the sixth in Hiland history.

Mishler also served as an assistant coach for Hiland’s boys’ team during the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons – the latter in which the Hawks earned a Division IV Final Four appearance.
