Start county sheriff deputies were dispatched to a home in the 5000 block of Oakhill Ave NE for a domestic violence incident.

When they arrived, a 31-year-old woman from Alliance reported that her live-in boyfriend Arlie David Henthorn, 37, of Alliance punched her in the face several times. It’s also alleged that he punched his four-year-old in the face, causing injury.

The woman and the four year old child barricaded themselves in a room when Henthorn began firing a gun inside the house. They escaped the home and fled by vehicle and met responding deputies at a nearby location.

While deputies were on scene attempting to make contact with Arlie David Henthorn, he started a fire in the living room of the residence. It is believed he then quickly extinguished the fire and subsequently surrendered to deputies without further incident.

Arlie David Henthorn was arrested and booked into the Stark County Jail on the following charges: 1 count Aggravated Arson (felony 2), 2 counts Domestic Violence (misdemeanor 1), 1 count Using Weapons while Intoxicated (misdemeanor 1), 1 count Felonious Assault (felony 2), 1 count Endangering Children (misdemeanor 1), 1 count Improperly Discharging a Firearm into a Habitation (felony 2).
