The Canton Police Department has identified the man who was left in critical condition following a hit-skip accident that occurred Tuesday night on Tuscarawas St West at Harrison Ave in Canton.
The victim has been identified as 64-year-old Jeffrey L. Jackson of Canton. He sustained life-threatening injuries.
Police say Jackson was attempting to cross Tuscarawas St. West when he was struck by a dark colored vehicle traveling westbound. The vehicle involved fled the scene.
Canton Police Lt. Dennis Garren confirmed to JMN that the suspected driver of the vehicle has been identified and interviewed by investigators. Charges are pending a review by the prosecutor’s office. The suspect vehicle has also been located.
