Members of the North Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested 17-year-old Ajani A. Smith for the shooting death of Terrell Lipkins, 51.
Shortly after midnight on January 8, 2022, Smith and Craig Avery, 16, allegedly fired several shots outside an apartment in the 3100 block of Gilbert Circle NE. Avery was arrested a week after the shooting.
Smith was arrested early Tuesday morning at a home in the 200 block of Edwin Ave. SE in Massillon without incident.
“Although they are teenagers, these two were wanted for the most violent of crimes, with one of the suspects wanted for a shooting only weeks before the homicide,” said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott. “Canton and the surrounding cities are safer now that these two suspects are locked away from the community.”
