The Canton Police Department has announced the arrest of one of the two teen suspects accused of shooting and killing a 51-year-old Canton man earlier this month.
Police were originally dispatched to a home in the 3100 block of Gilbert Circle NE for reports of the shots fired incident.
When they arrived to the scene they located 51-year-old Terrell Lipkins shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead a short time later at Cleveland clinic Mercy Hospital.
Two teen suspects were quickly identified. Lt. Dennis Garren announced that Craig D. Avery, 16, of Akron was arrested Jan. 16.
Ajani A. Smith, 17, of Ninth Street SW, remains at large.
The motive for the shooting remains unclear.
