Carrollton’s Baker makes 12-of-12 foul shots in 50-31 win over Minerva

The Carrollton Lady Warriors basketball team added another win to the win column Saturday afternoon, defeating Eastern Buckeye Conference (EBC) rival Minerva by a score of 50-31.

The Lady Warriors led most of the game, putting up 18 points in the first quarter and holding Minerva to 11. Carrollton expanded their lead to 28-18 at halftime. Demi Leary scored eight points to pace the Lady Warriors in the first half. She finished with 10.

Carrollton sealed the game in the second half with a strong performance from the foul line by sophomore Hillari Baker. Down the stretch, Baker found herself at the foul line multiple times. She went 10-for-10 in the fourth quarter on top of two made free throws in the first quarter. Baker posted 16 points.

As a team, Carrollton finished 18-of-27 from the foul line.

Hera Hoffee led the Minerva Lady Lions with 13 points followed by Jenna Cassidy’s 12.

Other scorers for Carrollton were: Sophia Glass (7), Alicia Lebbano (6), Grace Leslie and Emily Wayts (4), and Lauren Marmo (3).
