HS Sports Monday: Carrollton, Claymont, Hiland girls basketball win; Conotton Valley bowling splits with New Philadelphia

The Hiland Hawks improved to 10-4 (7-1 IVC South) with a 49-36 win over Sandy Valley on Monday night in Berlin.

Aila Miller led the Hawks in scoring with 16 points, while Jenna Troyer (15 points) and Ashley Mullet (12) contributed to the home team’s victory.

Sandy was led in scoring by Alli Neary, who totaled 11 points. Lexi Tucci added seven points, while Jordan Parker pitched in six points and three blocks.

The Cardinals fell to 11-3 (5-3 South) with the loss.

CLAYMONT 47, PHILO 38

The Claymont Mustangs won a non-conference battle with Philo on Monday in Uhrichsville.

Bailey Eddleman totaled 17 points for the Mustangs (4-6), while Emily Grant added 12.

Olivia Dement led Philo with 13 points.

CARROLLTON 42, INDIAN VALLEY 31

Carrollton High School picked up a road win at Indian Valley on Monday night.

The Warriors (6-6) were led by Lauren Marmo’s 14 points, while Demi Leary added 10 points for Carrollton.

The Braves (0-13) were led by Ashton Doak’s eight points, while Celeste Rummell totaled seven points and 12 rebounds.

SHERIDAN 66, RIVER VIEW 18

Sheridan High School won over River View for an easy Muskingum Valley League victory on Monday night.

Sheridan led 41-8 at halftime.

CONOTTON VALLEY 2302, NEW PHILADELPHIA 2124 (GIRLS)

New Philadelphia and Conotton Valley High School split bowling matches at Boulevard Lanes on Monday.

The Rockets took the girls match, as Katie Schaar posted a 236 game for a 384 series.

For the boys match, the Quakers were victorious as Alex Knisely led the way with a 484.
