Canton Police have obtained a warrant for a second teenager in connection to a murder that occurred Saturday morning in the city.

Police are currently searching for Craig D. Avery, a 16-year-old black male; and Ajani A. Smith, a 17-year-old black male.

Officers were dispatched to the 3100 block of Gilbert NE for reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they located 51-year-old Terrell Lipkins with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital.

The teenagers wanted in connection to this shooting are both at-large, according to Canton Police Lt. Dennis Garren. A motive for the shooting has not been released. Lipkins was shot in the chest and the leg.

Smith was already wanted for a shooting that occurred the day after Christmas at Victory Square. Police were dispatched to the area because two people had been shooting at each other. No injuries were reported. A warrant was issued for Smith’s arrest for discharging a firearm on or near a prohibited premises.
