An off-duty Cleveland police officer was shot to death Friday night in a carjacking along Rocky River Drive. According to Cleveland Police, the carjacking happened at 4320 Rocky River Drive where Bartek was approached by a man with a gun.

A struggle between the suspect and Bartek ensued and the off-duty officer was shot twice by the suspect who fled in the victim’s vehicle. Bartek was transported to Fairview Hospital by Cleveland EMS where he died.

A man was taken into custody after a police pursuit. A female was also arrested after further investigation.

This matter remains under investigation. Charges have not yet been filed. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
