Employee killed in accident at TimkenSteel’s Gambrinus facility in Perry Township

An employee died Monday morning after a workplace accident took place at Timken Steel’s Gambrinus finishing plant.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the accident along with the company and Steelworkers Local 1123. 

No details concerning what happened and why the accident occured has not yet been released. 

In a statement issued Monday, the company expressed “heartfelt sympathies and support to family, friends, and co-workers.”

Company officials were made aware of the accident around 10 A.M. Monday morning.

The company said that they will provide employees with counseling and assistance as a result of the incident.

Areas of the Gambrinus facility shut down on Monday following the accdient.
