Warren Local bested New Philadelphia, 36-34, in a girls basketball contest on Saturday at Warren.

The loss was the first for the Lady Quakers as their record dropped to 6-1 (3-1 ECOL).

Addie Smith scored 16 points and Alex Frazee added nine for the Warriors.

Ajia Schreffler totaled 15 points and 10 rebounds for New Phila, while Alyssa Miller and Callee Barker each totaled six points.

STRASBURG 51, TUSCARAWAS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 42

The Strasburg Tigers extended their winning streak to eight games in a 9-point victory over Central Catholic on Saturday.

The host Tigers (8-1, 5-0 IVC) were led by freshman Riley Thomas’s 20 points, while Madi Becker pitched in 12 points for Strasburg.

The Saints (6-1, 4-1) were led in scoring by Reese Triplett, who scored 27 points (17 in the second half).

GARAWAY 29, INDIAN VALLEY 23

The Garaway Pirates won a low-scoring affair over Indian Valley on Saturday.

Rylee Putt put in nine points and Marley Metzger added eight for the Pirates (5-3, 3-2).

Macy Lancaster led the Braves (0-7, 0-5) at 10 points.

HILAND 45, CLAYMONT 29

The Hawks topped the Mustangs on Saturday in the Twin Cities.

Ashley Mullet led all Hiland (6-2, 4-1) scorers with 22 points, including six 3-point field goals.

Claymont fell to 3-4 (1-2).

MALVERN 46, BUCKEYE TRAIL 43

Malvern sweated out a three-point win over Buckeye Trail on Saturday.

Maddie Powers scored 29 points for the Hornets (3-5, 2-2), while Emma Debo pitched in eight points.

Cheyann Smith led the Warriors (2-5, 1-3) with 11 points.

TUSCARAWAS VALLEY 52, RIDGEWOOD 12

Tusky Valley won by 40 over the Generals on Saturday.

Ashley Merrick scored 12 points for the Trojans (7-1, 5-0), while Brook Stookey added 11 points.

Kya Masloski led Ridgewood (3-6, 0-5) with six points.

EAST CANTON 60, CONOTTON VALLEY 16

East Canton rolled over the Rockets on Saturday.

The Wizards are now 3-5 (3-2), while the Rockets fall to 0-6 (0-5).

CARROLLTON 53, ALLIANCE 37

Carrollton picked up an Eastern Buckeye Conference win over Alliance on Saturday

Lauren Marmo scored 16 points and picked up nine rebounds, while Demi Leary (12) and Hillari Baker (10) contributed to the Warriors’ scoring.

Jayla Callock led Alliance with 10 points.

WEST HOLMES 58, ASHLAND 46

West Holmes won an Ohio Cardinals Conference home game versus Ashland on Saturday.

Claire Reynolds scored 18 points for W.H., while Keegan Uhl added 12 points for the Knights (7-1, 4-0).

BOYS BASKETBALL

DOVER 62, LINSLY 50

The Dover Crimson Tornadoes rallied for a victory over Linsly in the Buckeye 8 Challenge at Cadiz’s Harrison Central High School.

Dover (4-1) was led in scoring by T.C. Molk, who was named the game’s Most Valuable Player after scoring 20 points.

Ayden Hall had 16 and Mikey Beal scored 14 for the Crimson.

Caleb Murray led Linsly with 18 points, while Raef Wykes pitched in 10.

HARRISON CENTRAL 46, STEUBENVILLE 45

Buckeye 8 Challenge host Harrison Central won their opener over Steubenville on Saturday.

Game MVP Jonathan Vermillion scored 13 points, while Hayden Cassidy led Central with 17.

The Big Red were led in scoring by Phaeton Hill (18 points).

STRASBURG 46, LAKE CENTER CHRISTIAN 41

Strasburg topped Lake Center Christian in the Hall of Fame Hardwood Classic at Massillon Washington High School.

Andrew Harvey scored 20 points and Landon Potopsky added 18 for the Tigers, who improved to 7-1.

EAST LIVERPOOL 79, CARROLLTON 62

East Liverpool jumped to 7-1 with a hard-fought win over Carrollton on Saturday.

Cole Dailey pacing East Liverpool with 23 points, while Marquise Green added 15.

Darick Miller led the Warriors with 21 points and 13 rebounds.
