HS Boys Basketball Friday: Potopsky’s 33 fuels Strasburg over Buckeye Trail; Malvern, TCC, T.V. still unbeaten

Landon Potopsky led Strasburg with 33 points in the Tigers’ 57-44 win over Buckeye Trail High School on Friday night in Lore City.

Andrew Harvey also scored 18 points for Strasburg, who advanced to 4-1 and 3-0 in the Inter-Valley Conference.

Buckeye Trail fell to 1-2 (0-2 IVC).

DOVER 78, ISA 50

The Dover Crimson Tornadoes won by 28 points over ISA on Friday.

GARAWAY 60, RIDGEWOOD 46

The Pirates picked up their first win in a 14-point decision over Ridgewood.

Alexander Roden led Garaway (1-2, 1-1) with 25 points, along with Drew Mullet’s 12 and Brady Roden’s 11.

Dalton Patterson led the Generals (3-1, 1-1) with 21 points.

TUSCARAWAS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 75, CONOTTON VALLEY 40

Central Catholic made its way over Conotton Valley on Friday night.

Zander Sabin scored 31 points, while James Brooks added 10 for T.C.C., while Brett Putnam and Maddox Walter each scored 11 points for C.V.

The Saints improved to 3-0 (2-0), while the Rockets dropped to 2-3 (1-2).

MALVERN 74, NEWCOMERSTOWN 12

The Malvern Hornets led 25-0 after one quarter of their Friday night win over Newcomerstown.

The Hornets (3-0, 1-0) led the Trojans (0-5, 0-3) at halftime, 44-8.

TUSCARAWAS VALLEY 46, INDIAN VALLEY 42

Tusky Valley (5-0, 1-0) edged Indian Valley (2-2, 0-2) on Friday night.

Both teams’ top scorers each totaled 12 points: Logan Stotzer (T.V.) and Isaac Klaserner (I.V.).

HILAND 46, CLAYMONT 34

The Hiland Hawks improved to 3-1 (2-0) on the season with a win over Claymont (1-4, 0-2).

Sammy Detweiler and Dylan Weaver each scored 12 points, and Connor Lynch led the Mustangs with 11 points.

EAST CANTON 62, SANDY VALLEY 52

The Hornets moved to 2-2 on the year with a 10-point win at Sandy Valley.

Dantae Faiello led the Cardinals (3-2, 1-1) with 13 points and five assists.

WEST BRANCH 63, CARROLLTON 47

The West Branch Warriors picked up an Eastern Buckeye Conference win over Carrollton on Friday.

Jaxon Hendershott scored 23 points, Dru DeShields added 20, and Nick Wilson dropped 11 for W.B.

FAIRLESS 43, ORRVILLE 42

The Fairless Falcons picked up a Friday night win over Orrville.
