Goodwill locations in the Stark, Carroll and Tuscarawas County remain closed Wednesday as police continue to investigate a series of threats.

“Yesterday, Goodwill officials received several threats from an unknown individual,” Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio community relations manager Diane Pilati said in a statement. “As a precaution, the agency acted swiftly to close all Goodwill locations for the remainder of the day.”

Goodwill closed its doors early Tuesday due to four threats – two by email and two by phone call.

The agency had hoped to reopen Wednesday, but they decided to remain closed. They hope to reopen Thursday.

Any employees who missed work Wednesday will be compensated for the time missed.

“The safety of the staff, customers and donors is always the first priority at Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio,” Pilati said.
