The Ohio State Highway Patrol is searching for a driver who they say fled after hitting a 13-year-old boy on a bike with their car Sunday in the Mansfield area.
OSHP said the hit-and-run occurred Cass Township in Richland Township Sunday morning, just after 9 a.m. Troopers said the young teen died when he was hit by a pickup truck while riding his bike on Bowman Road.
The truck is described as being dark in color and will have damage to its front. Troopers say it could be a Chevy or GMC truck from the early 2000s with the driver-side tail light covered in red tape.
Anyone with information related to the accident is asked to contact the Mansfield post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
