Alec Baldwin is speaking out more than a month after a prop gun he was holding on a New Mexico film set went off, killing a cinematographer.

In an exclusive sit-down interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, Baldwin said he never pulled the trigger.

“I didn’t pull the trigger,” Baldwin said. “I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them. Never.”

The interview is Baldwin’s first since sit down since the fatal movie set shooting on the “Rust” set that killed Halyna Hutchins, cinematographer. Director Joel Souza was also wounded.

Police continue to investigate how a live round ended up on the movie set. Baldwin claims it wasn’t supposed to be on the property.

“I have no idea. Someone put a live bullet in a gun, a bullet that wasn’t even supposed to be on the property,” he said.

The interview will air on ABC at 8 p.m. Eastern time on Thursday and stream on Hulu later that evening.
