A two-vehicle crash claimed the life of an 18-year-old man from Navarre Wednesday morning in Wayne County. The accident, which involved a pickup truck and a commercial truck, occurred on State Route 21 at the intersection of Clinton Road, according to a news release by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Logan Dickerson, 18, was identified as the operator of the pickup truck. The news release said the commercial truck, driven by a 58-year-old Cleveland man, was heading west to east on Clinton Road when it failed to stop at a posted stop sign at the intersection of SR 21 before crashing into the northbound pickup truck.
The pickup truck was struck on the vehicle’s driver side, pushed off the roadway and came to a rest in the northeast corner of the intersection.
Dickerson, who was wearing his seatbelt, was severely injured in the crash and had to be removed from the vehicle by Chippewa Township first responders. He was transported to Akron General Hospital where he later died.
The driver of the commercial truck and his 31-year-old South Euclid passenger, were wearing seat-belts and were not injured.
