16-year-old killed in Tuscarawas County car accident; 13-year-old passenger injured

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a 16-year-old boy and left his 13-year-old sister injured.

The accident occurred around 12:20 Wednesday morning in Clay Township on Frys Valley Road.

The vehicle entered a slight curve where it traveled off the right side of the roadway striking a ditch. The vehicle then overturned and came to rest on its roof, according to OHSP.

The 16-year-old died at the scene. The 13-year-old was transported to Aultman Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver was a student at Indian Valley High School. His sister is a student at New Philadelphia Middle School.

The crash remains under investigation.
