New Philadelphia’s girls’ soccer team’s season ended on Monday in a 9-1 loss at Walsh Jesuit High School in the Division I District Semifinal.
13th-seeded New Philadelphia managed to cut the top-ranked Warriors’ lead to 2-1 in the first half before Jesuit scored an unanswered seven goals for the remainder of the contest.
Kennedy Alberty recorded a hat trick and Hannah Pachan added a pair of goals for Jesuit.
New Philadelphia’s season ends at 14-2-1.
ST. CLAIRSVILLE 3, BEAVER LOCAL 1
No. 1 St. Clairsville beat 8th-seeded Beaver Local in a Division II semifinal at Harrison Central.
The Red Devils will play Steubenville for the District title on Thursday.
TRI-VALLEY 4, WEST HOLMES 0
2nd-seeded Tri-Valley shut out 7th-ranked West Holmes in the Division II District semifinal in Coshocton.
