Sandy Valley’s Connor Ritter is holding first place in the state after round 1 of the tournament.
Ritter, the Cardinals lone state qualifier, is sitting with a score of 69 (-3) on the day – holding first place in the DII tournament.
The Carrollton boys golf team is sitting in a three-team tie for third place after the first day of the Division II boys golf state tournament.
As a team, Carrollton is sitting with a total score of 334 (+46).
John Birong is the leading golfer for Carrollton at the moment, shooting 78 (+6) after the first 18 holes of the tournament. He shot one under on the 11th hole.
Jaxon Rinkes is the second golfer for the Warriors, sitting with a score of 82 (+10). He shot one under on the fifth hole of the day.
Colton Moore is Carrollton’s third golfer with a score of 85 (+13) followed by Cayden Rininger (+17).
The top four scores for each teach are counted in the scoring.
Micah Barkan is Carrollton’s No. 5 golfer with a score of 90 (+18).
The first place team is Kettering Archbishop Alter with a first round score of 294 (+6).
The golfers will resume the tournament tomorrow morning at NorthStar Golf Club.
